108 is a sacred number with significant meaning in Buddhism. It not only represents the 108 earthly worries, but also the 108 paths to wisdom. Ultimately, it also symbolizes spiritual completion. It is said that there are 108 earthly worries. Likewise, there are 108 remedies. These remedies include reshaping one’s self; resonating through other's lives; appreciating favorable and unfavorable conditions; and being grateful when giving and receiving. When we overcome all 108 earthly worries, we will achieve spiritual completion. With the lessons learned from the pandemic, we pray that humans all over the world can cultivate great compassion; face the facts together; accept the facts together; deal with them wisely; let go together with all their hearts; and create lasting peace and serenity for our society and the world.
